    June 20th, Yokohama.

This is the day of rest. I didn’t take any dance lesson but just travelled around at Yokohama. The feeling of Yokohama is really different from Tokyo. Its peaceful, leisure and comfortable. The buildings doesn’t stick together closely and there are only few people on the street. Cool! so good for me to relax.

While searching for a place to have lunch, I found one American restaurant called Friday’s having a promotion of 50% off!!! I got in there without any hesitation and order a plate of steak. I was sitting at the window seat and the view was so great. You know, the refillable drinks also have 50% off, just cost me 75 yen!!!

I did nothing special besides walking around. Landmark Plaza, Queen’s Square, Jack Mall, MM21 and 紅磚倉庫. I only bought a few souvenirs for friends and myself, but I put my focus on feeling the atmosphere here. If you have chance to come, don’t forget to walk along the seaside. Finally, I went to the 中華街 and had some chinese dim sum and rice as dinner. Not that delicious, but kind of experience more, worthy to try~~

I didn’t play any amusement in Cosmo World or Wonder Amuse Zone. Taking photos is already enough for me. Hehe, look at the time of the Ferris Wheel. It’s 9:22, same as my birthday!

    June 18th & 19th, Tokyo.

I went to 池袋 again to find the good things to eat. First of all, I had a ramen in 一蘭, the number one ramen restaurant in 2006. Its damn delicious!!!!!! The secret spicy sauce was completely matched with the pork bone soup! If you come to tokyo, you must try once.

The second food I have to suggest is barbecue chicken wings (you can see the name from the photo). 6pm already many people were having a meal there. The wings are smelly and the skins were crunchy, really worthy to have a trial.

The next day I went to Ueno Zoo to shoot the animals. It has been so long time that I couldn’t remember when did i go to a zoo last time. Lions, monkeys, gorilla, polar bear, hippo, differnt kinds of birds, zebra, etc.. I have spent about 3 hours in the zoo and finally, I found that the most beautiful animal is TIGER. Its really awesome.

After taking 3 lessons, the last lesson of the day is the guest tutor Bobby from United States. I don’t want to think about it anymore, no even a second.. After taking the lesson, I felt so embarrassed that I told him I came from HK.. I walked on the street, thinking of whether I choose a wrong path of my career. I was totally disqualified to be a dancer nor a tutor.. I am absolutely a frog in the bottom of the well..

Please.. please.. help me to get rid of this horror..

The mouse of the PC here is out of order. Its so difficult to upload the photos and impossible for me to type the blog (I can’t “TAP TAP TAP” to the POST button!).

    June 16th, Tokyo.

秋葉原. Many comics, figures, computers products, video games. I am so happy to buy the SEGA SATURN memory card in a shop which I search for nearly one year! I wanna play a RPG game of the old school sega saturn for long! Can’t wait for trying and playing the game!

Japanese Culture time: Drinks, food are still put on the street for the people died in the accident last week. People would stop and pray for little bit in front of those food, both the elderly and youngsters do.

    June 17th, Tokyo.

Disney Sea! Finally I squeezed my time and find a day to the theme park successfully. What’s inside? Come on, it’s not difficult to predict. The rides, the disney mascots, the musical shows, the expensive food, but I still enjoyed it very much. (epecially I have no expectation of playing the TOWER!!!!! FXXK!!! It’s a free fall game!!!)

The night was a nightmare. I have a class of the guest tutor Bobby but I spent about 30mins to find the studio. The map was too simple to find the way and I just kept running in the area nearby. I asked two japanese guys but they couldn’t help me for little! Finally, two English women read the address and led me there. Thanks too much.. I was already late for 40mins, which is impossible to join the class. Luckily the staff refund the money back to me.

    June 15th, Tokyo.

This is the day of the Japan Dance Delight (Preliminary of Tokyo), the biggest dance contest in Japan. Though I slept at 8:30am, I still wake up at 1:00pm to watch it in Kawasaki. About 70 teams were divided into three sections. I watched the first two and left before the last one started as I had to attend Ari’s Jazz class today. I didn’t watch them all but I could still get the things that I wanna learn. Just a little bit disappointed as the best team supposed to be put at the last part of the show.

Perhaps I was tired, I couldn’t balance well during practicing the combinations in lesson. I talked to Ari after the class for a while (He can speak Mandarin as he lived in Taiwan for a couple of years). He’s nice and I admire him from my deep deep heart. Um, anyway, thanks for his appreciation today =)

Btw, I bought two towels of the JDD competition for my own souvenirs! Isn’t it cool?

    June 13th & 14th, Tokyo.

You know where am I starting to write this blog right now? Those 24 hours “Eat Tea” computer cafe! The story is long but simple – Tonight I took the last JR train sucessfully, but it just terminated in the middle of my way.. My rule is always NO TAXI, so I would rather pay a thousand yen to find a place to stay overnight.

These two days were really a long day. I attended a total of 7 classes and they truly exhausted me. And despite of the classes, I was invited to watch a dance show by a tutor yesterday. The show started at 12:30am and it was held in Roppongi, while its similar to Lan Kwai Fong. There were many teams and some of them were pretty impressive. No one can deny that level of dancers (underground but not the professional) are much higher than in Hong Kong. If you don’t believe in me, go to HMV and buy a Dance Delight DVD.

The show finished at about 3am. After blowing water and shooting with the tutors, I still have over 90mins to wait for the first Metro train..

Photo time! The first pic was shot at the Tokyo Tower after I went to 築地市場 in Friday morning and the second one was shot in JR station tonight. The train was the one I took wrongly, so memorable =P

    June 12th, Tokyo.

    I got lost again!

Today I planned to go to a new studio in Meguro called NOA and try Yoshie freestyle class. But, I missed the most important point that the studio is not near JR Meguro station. I asked a Japanese after a couple of time and follow his instruction to walk forward. Then, I couldn’t find any building or road that can be read from my map and, finally, I could only give up.. The only thing I got is, I bought a box of fresh strawberry in 30% off during my 30mins walk in a supermarket..

Japanese culture time – Though udon is a kind of Japanese traditional food, it’s not easy to find a udon restaurant in tokyo. Then what can be found easily? Ramen be sure!

    June 11th, Tokyo.

The whole climate of dancing here is better than in HK. People go to learn jazz, house, punking, and hip hop among different age groups. You can find middle age students in every class, some of them are already gray. Besides, all of the students work very hard. They do stretching themselves and keep practicing during the rests. Last but not least, they can keep the interest of dancing for years, not like HK people only start for weeks but then disappear forever. No wonder many of them dance better than me. I’m not kidding huh.

I went to 上野 Ueno today. I would like to walk on the street originally, but the result is.. I stayed at a 7 levels anime shops for an hour! One-piece, Totoro, Dragon Ball, Muscle-man, Keroro, Doraemon, Gundam, American Idols.. I couldn’t stop to pick them up!!! As I am planning to go there once again, I bought nothing as its better to check the prices in Akihabara first~~

Master Inoue Takehiko (remember Slam Dunk?) is holding his last exhibition nearby. Of course I am not going to miss it! The gallery inside mainly in black and white. But its really awesome as he used different styles e.g. comic, “mountain and water painting” (like Chinese style). One special gimmick is, he put some sand on the floor of a room to pretend a beach because the paintings background is a beach! Look at the pic! Am I as cool as the Inoue’s character?

P.S. Japanese culture time – You can easily find the automatic drinks machine everywhere. From my unofficial calculation, you can find another drinks machine within 100 paces from the one by your side. It means that its impossible to die of thirsty if you have 100yen in your bocket~~

    June 10th, Tokyo.

Best day of travelling, worst day of dancing.

My first lesson today was really fucked up. The name of the tutor is U*G. He taught so quick that I totally couldn’t follow.. 80% of the girls could learn the 6 eight counts within 10mins.. how come.. incredible.. I gave up the last time to dance but took up my DC to record the clips for practice.. Fortunately, the punking class (medium level) of Yoshie was good as she is very patient to teach. I will go to her free-style class on Thursday certainly.

Daytime planned to go 池袋 Ikebukuro. I saw there is a bus stop in front of me! So plan A was changed to B, I took a bus to Ikebukuro instead of metro. Many elderly like taking bus because there is no need to walk the stairs and stand in a crowded train. After almost 50mins, I arrived finally.

In spite of video games in SEGA, Sunshine city was the place I spent most of the time. First of all, there is a big TOTORO shop in basement!!! This year is the 20th anniversary of TOTORO. I bought a CAT BUS coins wallet and a story book for myself. And even though I went to Disney Store next to the TOTORO shop, I had came back for two times to look at the dolls and goods again!!! I really crazy about TOTORO!!!

Namja town is another special place I went. I paid nothing to pass through the entrance because special promotion after 5pm, lucky~~ Its a mini indoor theme park stuff. You know, I can’t read Japanese so I played none of them. However, I spent about 1800yen on “doll clipping” and won a big One-Piece CHOPPER doll~~~~~~~~~~ I shouted so loudly when I saw the little brick fell down to my cage! Lucky! So skillful~~

Picture time. Buy 1 get 1 free today.

P.S. Japanese culture time – I saw 2 men nearly started to fight in JR station, 1 man fell into sleep when he was standing in the train, and 1 woman who got drunk fell of  twice in the train. Is this the lives of Japanese?

    June 9th, Tokyo.

3 lessons today. The punking one is a brand new style for me, so its rather difficult to adapt. Both the other two are hip hop stuff. Masaki’s lesson was cool while Michi’s was realatively easier for me. Actually I got sweaty from all of them~~

Travelling lei, I went to 雷門 and 淺草寺 today. Its close from the place I live and I just walked there. Its rather comfortable of going this old temple while comparing with the modern shopping mall in Shinjuku or Shibuya. I like the 仲見世 as there are a lot of traditional souvenirs and snacks. I spent a few thousands yen there! But nothing for myself =P

P.S. Japanese culture time – It is so difficult to find a rubbish bin in the street!!!!!

    June 8th, Tokyo.

Though the time now does not match any main festival, I still saw a regional one in Minowa. I found every shop and house hanging a lantern with the name of the 祭 at the entrance. Both adults and children were hauling a statue (on top of a big drum) together while the children using sticks to hit the drum. Its simple, but local and ritual. I like it!

I took two classes today. Nate is a guest hip hop tutor from U.S. but I thought the style was pretty jazz indeed. Besides, Ari is the representative of OnesToWatch and his technique is so awesome!!!!! The whole class was full of deeper jazz skills and I was the worst student undoubtedly. Thanks for his patience and guidance.

Today is Sunday, so i decided to go to Yoyogikoen 代々木公園 at noon as the tourist book mentioned that there are a lot of people selling things in the park. When I arrived, I found that its so big. Many people’re having picnic, sleeping on the grass, playing with the dogs and you could watch any little performance whatever you like, such as breaking, percussion, figure cycling, old-fashioned dancing, rock bands, etc. Haha, I didn’t want to leave from watching the shows!
